If you have been vaccinated for Q fever, you need to remember NEVER to have a further vaccination in your lifetime – so it is important that you retain proof of vaccination i the Q Fever Register commenced in 2002 to permanently store this information
– the Medical Practitioner how did the vaccination will also have this information and will store it for 7 years after your last visit –
The Q fever register is closing next year 30/6/24 – you can download your Q Fever eStatement for your permanent record of your vaccination before 30 June 2025.
A permanent record of the vaccination could be added to your eHealth record Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) by taking your eStatement to a medical professional. This may be done by the practie nurse- a fee may be payable – hopefully the General Practitioner vaccination module be updated to make this process easy as adding new vaccinations ( comment as at April 2024 – it is not easy and is time consuming – a fee may be charged)
The Australian Immunisation Register will hold this information so you can access it in the future.
